ADHD Coaching Practitioner
One of the only UK ADHD coaching certifications built on
a nervous system model rather than a deficit framework.
A nervous system difference.
Not a deficit.
ADHD is increasingly understood not simply as a deficit of attention or motivation, but as a difference in regulation, arousal, emotion, and nervous system state. The STILL Method ADHD Coaching Practitioner starts there. The nervous system as the site of change, not the brain as a broken object to be fixed.
That shift in framing is not cosmetic. It changes how you coach, how your clients experience themselves, and how the work holds over time.
“ADHD is not a deficit of attention. It is a nervous system that has been over-trained to survive environments that were not designed for it.” The STILL Method, Core Framework
Why nervous system first
changes outcomes.
Traditional ADHD support often focuses on behaviour before regulation. Clients are taught planners, routines, productivity systems, and executive function strategies while remaining emotionally flooded, dysregulated, ashamed, or exhausted.
For many ADHD adults, the problem is not a lack of information. It is that the nervous system cannot consistently access what they already know under pressure, overwhelm, threat, rejection, or burnout.
The STILL Method teaches practitioners to start here. This changes how clients experience themselves. It changes why strategies fail. And it changes how lasting progress is built.
Two paths in. One destination.
Add a specialist ADHD certification to a practice that is already working
You are already working as a coach, therapist, social worker, educator, or healthcare professional. You encounter ADHD regularly and you want a rigorous, professional framework that goes beyond the generic advice and gives your clients something that meaningfully shifts.
- Add a specialist ADHD certification to your existing credentials
- Licence two complete, ready-to-deliver client programmes
- Work from a nervous system model still largely absent from most ADHD coaching courses
- Build a specialist reputation in one of the fastest-growing niches in coaching
Build a specialist coaching practice from the ground up
You are moving into coaching as a new direction. Perhaps you have a background in education, healthcare, HR, or support work. Perhaps you have personal experience of ADHD. Whatever brings you here, this programme gives you a complete, professional framework and a ready-made product to offer from the moment you certify.
- No prior coaching qualification required to enrol
- A structured, professional framework that takes you from training to practice
- Two complete client programmes ready to deliver immediately after certification
- Join a community of practitioners who understand the terrain
This course may not be
the right fit if...
This is rigorous, live, research-led training. It rewards practitioners who want depth. It will not suit everyone, and we would rather be clear about that here than after you enrol.
- You are looking for clinical ADHD diagnostic training
- You want productivity hacks without nervous system work
- You are looking for a passive, self-paced certification
- You want a quick online badge without live practice and assessment
- You are uncomfortable engaging critically with research and reflective practice
Built on the science.
Honest about the science.
ADHD coaching certifications in the UK tend to fall into one of two patterns. A general coaching qualification with a short ADHD module attached. Or a dedicated certification built on a deficit-focused executive function model that the research has largely moved past. We built this course because neither pattern fully equips practitioners for the people now presenting.
We start with emotion dysregulation, not executive function
A 2020 meta-analysis pooling data across studies found that ADHD symptom severity correlated at 0.54 with general emotion dysregulation, with negative emotional responses at 0.63. A 2023 systematic review found that adults with ADHD consistently use non-adaptive emotion regulation strategies at significantly higher rates than those without.
The direction of the research is clear. Emotion dysregulation is increasingly recognised as a core feature of ADHD, not a side effect. An ADHD coaching protocol that treats it as secondary is behind the evidence. Ours puts it at the centre.
We teach the science behind what your clients are already experiencing
Rejection Sensitive Dysphoria. Emotional flooding. The exhaustion of masking. The shame that accumulates across years of being told you are not trying hard enough.
Your clients arrive already knowing these patterns. What they need is a practitioner who understands the nervous system science behind them. Why these responses arise, what is happening in the body when they do, and how to work with them at the level where change actually sticks. This course teaches that science in depth.
The framework is mapped against NICE Guideline NG87
NICE NG87, updated May 2025, is the authoritative UK reference for ADHD diagnosis and management. Few UK ADHD coaching certifications, to our knowledge, map their protocols against it.
Ours does. That matters when you are working alongside clinical teams, in schools, with NHS-adjacent employers, or simply when a client asks you where your framework comes from.
We cover the populations less commonly addressed elsewhere
The 2025 Eunethydis review, the most comprehensive international review of female ADHD to date, confirmed that ADHD in women and girls is significantly under-recognised, affected across the lifespan by hormonal fluctuation, and associated with substantially elevated rates of anxiety, depression, and late diagnosis.
We cover women and girls across the hormonal lifespan, AuDHD co-occurrence (present in approximately 45 percent of adults with ADHD), late diagnosis and identity reconstruction, and ADHD in children and young people. These are standard content, not optional add-ons.
We teach you to read the research, not just receive it
Every significant claim in this course is linked to a peer-reviewed source. You will leave able to point a client, an employer, or a sceptical GP to the evidence behind anything you say about ADHD.
We also teach you to evaluate research yourself. How to read an abstract, interpret an effect size, and identify the most common methodological weaknesses. This is rarely taught in ADHD coach training. It is the difference between a practitioner who repeats content and one who understands it.
The course is built for practitioners who may have ADHD themselves
Based on patterns across the STILL Method graduate base and the wider coaching literature, a significant proportion of practitioners who train in ADHD coaching have ADHD or AuDHD themselves. This course is designed with that in mind. Chunked content, clear scaffolding, flexible engagement, and explicit acknowledgement throughout that the practitioners in the room are part of the population the course discusses.
Clear about what this is.
And what it is not.
This certification trains practitioners in non-clinical ADHD coaching and nervous system informed support.
It does not qualify practitioners to diagnose ADHD, provide psychological therapy, advise on medication, or replace medical or psychiatric care.
Practitioners are trained to work ethically within the boundaries of coaching practice and to recognise when onward referral or clinical involvement is appropriate.
Four days. Live training.
Complete certification.
All four days are delivered live via Zoom. There are no pre-recorded modules or self-directed study requirements. You arrive, you engage, you leave certified and ready to work with clients. Assessment is built into the four days with nothing to complete afterwards before you can practise.

The conversations we kept having
led us here.
The discourse around ADHD has become louder and more visible than ever, but much of what is taught in coaching certifications has not kept pace with what the research now says.
The conversations we kept having with practitioners revealed the same pattern. They had been trained to teach executive function strategies, productivity systems, and habit work to clients who were still emotionally flooded, dysregulated, and exhausted. The tools were not working because the nervous system was still in survival.
Practitioners deserve deeper training. Clients deserve practitioners who understand the nervous system science behind what they are experiencing. The ADHD coaching field deserves a UK certification that takes the research seriously and teaches it honestly.
This course is our answer to that.
I've done a fair bit of training, delivered and received, and can honestly say it was one of the best courses I have taken. Inclusive, totally conducive to learning, and brilliant value compared with much of the other provision out there.
Everything you need to begin practising confidently.

The answers we are
asked most often.
What is an ADHD coach?
An ADHD coach is a non-clinical practitioner who supports adults, young people, or children with ADHD to develop self-knowledge, regulation, and practical strategies for everyday life and work. ADHD coaches do not diagnose or treat ADHD. They work alongside clinical care and within a defined scope of practice.
Is this course accredited?
This certification is part of The STILL Method practitioner training portfolio. The STILL Method is recognised through ACCPH and IPHM as a training provider, and this course is built to the same professional standards as our other certifications.
Do I need previous coaching experience?
No prior coaching qualification is required to enrol. The course provides a complete framework and the practice needed to certify and begin working with clients.
Is this therapy training?
No. This is non-clinical ADHD coaching training. It does not qualify you to provide psychological therapy or clinical treatment. It teaches a structured, nervous system informed coaching approach for adults, young people, and children with ADHD.
Can I work with children after qualifying?
The certification covers ADHD coaching across the lifespan, including children and young people. Practitioners working with under-18s should also hold appropriate safeguarding qualifications and adhere to their own professional codes of conduct.
Is this suitable if I have ADHD myself?
Yes. The course is explicitly designed with neurodivergent practitioners in mind. Chunked content, clear scaffolding, and flexible engagement support a wide range of learning preferences. A significant proportion of every STILL Method ADHD cohort is made up of practitioners who have ADHD or AuDHD themselves.
What makes this different from executive function coaching?
Executive function coaching tends to focus on planners, routines, and behavioural strategies. This course teaches the nervous system science underneath those strategies and why they often fail without state regulation work alongside them. Executive function is taught here as a downstream effect of nervous system regulation, not the primary site of intervention.
Is the course live or self-paced?
The four training days are delivered live via Zoom from 9:30am to 2:30pm UK time. There are no pre-recorded modules to work through alone. Practice and reflection take place between training days as part of the guided learning hours.
Will I receive certification?
On successful completion of the four days and the assessment built into the training, you receive the ADHD Coaching Practitioner Certification from The STILL Method and are added to the public ADHD Coach Directory.
What is included in the annual licence?
The annual licence is £50. It covers the right to deliver both the 6-Week and 12-Month ADHD Programmes using The STILL Method name and materials, two group supervision sessions per year, your directory listing, and access to the practitioner community.
What are the workbook costs?
Practitioners order physical client workbooks directly from The STILL Method at practitioner trade pricing. Workbook pricing is confirmed in the licence agreement provided after certification.
Can I deliver the programme online?
Yes. Both programmes can be delivered online, in person, in groups, or 1:1. The physical workbook accompanies the client regardless of delivery format.
How many people are in each cohort?
Cohorts are kept deliberately small to allow for live coaching practice, demonstrations, and individual feedback throughout the training.
Is the course aligned with NICE guidance?
Yes. The course curriculum is mapped against NICE Guideline NG87 on the diagnosis and management of ADHD. NICE NG87 is the authoritative UK reference for ADHD care, most recently updated in May 2025. Few UK ADHD coaching certifications, to our knowledge, explicitly map their protocols against it.
Ready to build something
genuinely different?
Three cohorts are available in 2026. All four days are delivered live via Zoom from 9:30am to 2:30pm UK time. Places are limited and launch cohort pricing of £875 closes when each cohort is full, after which the price moves to £1,250.
Rises to £1,250 after the launch cohorts
