Free one hour workshop · Live on Zoom or instant replay

Anxiety isn't a fault. It's an overtrained nervous system.

A free workshop that explains what anxiety actually is, why reassurance alone doesn't fix it, and what does. One session for parents and teachers helping anxious children. One for adults managing their own.

No cost. No card details. Watch instantly or join live.

The STILL Method, in one hour

STILL is five things a nervous system needs to update what it believes is dangerous. They aren't steps to work through in order. All five hold the work up at the same time, like a table with five legs.

Take any one away and the whole thing wobbles.

Two workshops. Pick the one that fits.

The thinking behind both is the same. What changes is whether you're supporting a child's nervous system or your own.

Helping a child with anxiety

For parents, teachers and anyone caring for an anxious child

School refusal, sleep battles, meltdowns that arrive from nowhere. This workshop explains what's actually happening in an anxious child's nervous system, and what to do that works better than reassurance.

  • Why anxiety happens and how to explain it to a child
  • What to do in the moment, without making it worse
  • How small, repeated wins retrain a child's alarm system

Managing your own anxiety

For adults living with anxiety, overthinking or constant worry

You can probably describe your anxiety perfectly and still be run by it. This workshop explains why that is, and how a nervous system actually changes: not through willpower, but through evidence.

  • What anxiety is really doing, and why it keeps coming back
  • Techniques you can use the same day
  • How to start giving your nervous system new evidence

Free guide: Screaming at the Ocean

Everyone who signs up also gets our written guide to the STILL Method, sent straight away. It explains the framework properly, then shows all five parts working on one child refusing school and one adult avoiding meetings, with practical tips for each.

Your trainer, Stuart Thompson

Stuart has spent over twenty five years working with anxious children and adults, first as a social worker and now as the founder of The STILL Method, training coaches across the UK and beyond. He is the author of 90 Days With Your Nervous System: Not Against It, and his work has featured on BBC News, ITV News and in The Guardian.

The workshops are plain and practical. No jargon, no theory for theory's sake, and nothing you can't use the same day.

From people who've attended

I attended today's session with Stuart and cannot express how helpful and insightful it was. My son's anxiety has heightened during lockdown but now, I've been given the tools to reassure him (and myself).

Parent

Did the online course today, totally captivated and highly recommend. The techniques are so practical and easy to implement immediately.

Workshop attendee

After years of struggling with anxiety, this one hour workshop gave me more clarity than months of previous attempts. The STILL Method just makes sense.

Questions people ask

Is it really free?+
Yes. No cost, no card details, no obligation. We run these because the more people who understand how anxiety actually works, the better.
How long does it take?+
About an hour, with time for questions on the live sessions.
Can I watch it in my own time instead of attending live?+
Yes. Choose instant access when you sign up and you can watch straight away, pause, and rewatch whenever you like. Live Zoom sessions run in September if you'd rather ask questions in person.
Which workshop should I choose?+
If you're supporting a child, choose the children's workshop. If you want help with your own anxiety, choose the adults' one. You pick when you sign up, and you're welcome to do both.
Is this suitable if my anxiety is severe?+
The workshop is educational and works at every level, but it isn't a replacement for medical care where that's needed. If you're under a GP or mental health team, it sits alongside that support, not instead of it.
Will I get anything to keep?+
Yes. Everyone who signs up receives our written guide to the STILL Method straight away, plus digital resources to refer back to after the workshop.

One hour. A different way of understanding anxiety.
